The Industrial Revolution had a big effect on the population; the death rate was deteriorating, the birth rate was increasing, plagues were being exterminated, and available food was more common. Technological advancements caused an increase in wages for people, so they could marry early and produce children early. This caused a spurt in population, which made the economy stronger; more people working equals more money and resources being made. Unfortunately, the Northern areas were growing too much too fast; it was becoming dirty in the towns, and disease once again appeared. The increased population did create more productivity, but too many people in a crowded area causes bad living places.

Human population gained more than ever in the 18th century. This meant that industries had to provide higher wages to individuals compared to the villages. Things changed and people got more freedom, like young people could marry and the city life provided young people with greater choices. This made the industries provide the people with improved clothing’s, households, and better living conditions. Later settlements started to grow around the factories. Some factories started existing in towns and after when steam power developed the factories were built next to water sources. Other factories built where ever they had their resources. On the other hand some were in places of most population where labor and transportation was were needed. Towns in North were crowded and dirty. Places with highly dense population would even have disease breakouts. Question: Did the growth in population keep growing with time?I think morality and economics are often in conflict, because large number of people help the economy because that makes more produce of goods, and large number of people occupies more land.

The 18th century brought as large increase in population, more than anything in previous history, due to the decline in morality, increased birth rate, larger supplies of food and advancements in medicine. The advancements in industry created more jobs and higher wages for everyone, allowing people to afford larger families. This created a healthier lifestyle for the English population. As more and more factories grew, we find that more and more of the population grew around these factories, some factories even created some towns because factories needed a lot of man power, which was easily available with a small population living around the factory. Many factories are found up a hill and it is not for the great view. All factories, in both the past and present require a lot of energy, and in the past, energy was received from the steam, which require a plentiful source of water. However, factories used for manufacturing metals exist right above their mineral source along with their town of laborers. Towns in the North grew quickly and rapidly, but their rapid growth caused them to be dirty, unhealthy and crowded. No one really took time to see their consequences because of such rapid growth. The outbreaks of typhoid and cholera in the mid-1800s were one of the consequences of the horrid conditions. Despite the costly death of many, England learned its lesson and the Parliament created the Public Health Act to improve the conditions. Morality and economics are often in conflict because there are so many people working at factories and so many factories sprouting up from the ground. There are only so much land that exists and the factory owners smoosh hundreds into cramped and filthy condition?

Why do you think the factories were growing so quickly? Why do you think they didn't pay attention to the conditions of the workers
